The Most Excellent Name
The work “Yeshua Is His Name” offers a theological exposition on the original name of the Savior, which was lost in translation over the span of 5 centuries.
A being (mortal or immortal) without a name is none-existing. A name is a word. Word is Sound, and Sound generates Energy; Energy undergirds life. When you wonder about the source of the Lord’s name, think of this: Joshua! His original name was Hoshea, meaning “Salvation” (num. 13:8.); But Moses changes it to Yahoshua, meaning “Yahweh is Salvation” (num. 13:16); on account of his encounter with Yahweh or Yahovah. The Son of God is known as Yeshua, a shortened form of Yahoshua. The Problem: Yahoshua is the Hebrew equivalent of the Greek name lesous (English – Jesus). But God did not give the Greeks, the Romans, or the English the permission to declare His name as He did Moshe, the Jewish covenant bearer. lesous Naus was the Greek name given to Joshua in Septuagint. If anyone should know the Lord of Lords’ name, Moses received the name “IAM THAT IAM” from the Creator.. So, let the believer call Him by His eternally given name – Yeshua Ha’mashiach!
